Salut, je suis Shady, un trentenaire qui vit à Bruxelles. Je suis un cycliste dans l’âme, j’adore le sentiment de liberté et le gain de temps qu’offre le vélo. Mais une crainte m’accompagne toujours : celle de me le faire voler. Cette peur est si tenace que, lorsque je vais chez mon meilleur ami, Martin, je grimpe deux étages avec mon vélo pour le ranger en toute sécurité dans son salon. Martin, qui n’est pas particulièrement fan de mon vélo chez lui, m’a lancé un défi un jour : trouver une solution à mon problème.
Et donc, on a entamé une discussion passionnée où j’ai partagé les défis de trouver une solution de stationnement vélo. Il me faut quelque chose de flexible, disponible, accessible, et même le meilleur des cadenas peut être fracturé en un rien de temps. “Et si nous créions notre propre support vélo, avec un cadenas intégré, qui serait plus robuste que tout ce qui existe déjà, et qui pourrait être déverrouillé avec un smartphone pour un stationnement en toute sérénité ?”
Après de nombreux croquis, brainstormings sur les fonctionnalités, recherches sur les matériaux, notre station a commencé à prendre forme. C’est Martin qui a trouvé le nom lors d’une soirée, on a construit une marque ensemble, j’ai mené des analyses financières et juridiques et nous avons commencé à pitcher notre idée à des cyclistes, des associations et aux pouvoirs publics.
En 2023, nous avons sorti un prototype, déposé un brevet, gagné un appel à projet de la Région de Bruxelles-Capitale, levé des fonds, et nous nous lançons en 2024 avec une mission : proposer aux cyclistes la sécurité que leur vélo mérite.

Hi, I’m Shady, a thirty-something living in Brussels. I’m a cyclist at heart, and I love the feeling of freedom and time savings that a bike offers. But there’s one fear that’s always with me: I’m afraid my bike will be stolen. This fear is so persistent that when I go to visit my best friend, Martin, I climb two flights of stairs with my bike to store it safely in his living room. One day Martin, who isn’t particularly fond of my bike cluttering up his home, challenged me to find a better anti-theft solution.
And so, we got into a passionate discussion about the challenges of finding a bike parking solution. I need something flexible, available, accessible, and even the best bike lock can be broken in just about no time. “What if we created our own bike rack, with an integrated, built-in lock, that would be sturdier than anything that already exists, and could be unlocked with a smartphone for worry-free bike parking?”
After numerous sketches, brainstorming sessions on features, and research into materials, our bike parking station started to take shape. Martin came up with the name at a party, we built a brand together. I took care of financial and legal analyses, and we started pitching our idea to cyclists, associations, and public authorities.
In 2023, we produced a prototype, filed a patent, won a call for projects from the City of Brussels, and raised funds. And for 2024, we’ve got a mission: to offer cyclists the safety their bikes deserve.
